Took place a meeting about the Procedure for Determining the goods imported to Ukraine

May 13, 2014 - the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade convened representatives of the automotive industry to discuss the changes in order to identify the goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine for use in industrial production of motor vehicles. The meeting was attended by Employees' Federation representatives and industry leaders, manufacturers, members of the Federation.

Position of automotive industry and Federation is the following:

1. These changes are not relevant, considering difficulties of industry.
2. Automotive industry requires support and a systematic approach, so the main effort should be concentrated on the development of the program of automobile industry development in accordance with the approved in January Concepts.
3. With the aim of filling the state budget (which is the main purpose of the relevant changes to the Procedure and Decree 1031) should be paid attention to the problems of illegal conversion of commercial-type vehicle without payment of excise duty and their massive importation into Ukraine and the sharp rise in imports used cars, procurement tenders cars that do not deal with environmental standards established by the legislation of Ukraine (Euro/4), and then carried out in violation of applicable laws.
