In July, sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles fell by 22.9% to 180,767 units, told Committee of Automakers Association of European Businesses (AEB). For seven months the market declined by 9.9% to 1.41 million vehicles.
A few manufacturers increased sales in July including Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Skoda, Lexus, Volvo, Jeep and Porsche. Many premium brands, are usually resistant to fluctuations in the market but showed a negative trend. For example, BMW sales in July fell by 38%, Audi - by 12%, Infiniti - by 40%, Jaguar - by 23%, Cadillac - 29%.
