Chinese automaker Haima plans to invest about $ 100 million in the organization of production of cars in Russia, the newspaper "Kommersant" reports with reference to the general director of "Khaimah cars Rus" Dong Guoqiang. This is the second attempt Haima enters the Russian market: in 2010-2012 the company assembled its models on the Circassian enterprise Derways, but then ceased assembly because of debts of partners. Experts interviewed by the newspaper, do not rule out that the Chinese auto industry is hoping to occupy a niche in the Russian market amid the intensification of economic relations with China.
Haima has already considered "TagAZa", UAZ and Derways, but ultimately intends to decide on the platform by the end of the year.
Company intends to implement the project in four phases: start with SKD and gradually increase the level of localization. Haima is counting on the power of up to 30 000 vehicles per year (not more than 10 000 vehicles in the formation of a joint venture with local partners).
