For delayed recall of defective cars there is a price

According to statements of U.S. Department of Transportation, the company General Motors will have to pay $35 million for the late recall of defective vehicles.

The reason for the recall was a problem with the car ignition. Earlier, the company had already recalled 2.59 million cars due to weak ignition lock: heavy keychain could turn the key and turn off all systems. 13 people died that way.
