Car production in Russia collapsed by 42%

Production of passenger cars in Russia in August 2014 decreased by 42.1% in comparison with the result of the previous month and 38.3% year on year. Such data has now the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation. For 8 months from the beginning of this year, car production in Russia decreased by 4.6% and amounted 1.2 million units. 

In January-August, the country produced 99.9 thousand trucks, which is 20.6% lower than a year earlier. Production of buses during this period decreased by 25.4% to 25.6 thousand units. In the last month issue of trucks decreased by 24.1% year on year, but increased by 8% compared to July 2014.
