Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor intends to equippe with automatic safety systems most of the cars available for sale in Japan, North America and Europe (including Russia) by 2017. It was reported today by representatives of the corporation.
The first cars Toyota's new "safe configuration" will be on sale next year. The company does not specify which funds will be used to modernize the assembly lines for the implementation of this program.
According to the Toyota, the car will be equipped with video cameras and radar, with which the central computer will receive information about the situation on the road. The system while driving at speeds up to 80 km / h will take the driving, for example, the brakes in the event of obstacles in front of or return the car back to the strip on the highway when the driver accidentally went beyond it. In addition, new cars from Toyota will be able to detect the approach of night cars in the opposite lane and automatically mute the main beam.
