Car sales in Japan fell the sixth consecutive month

Sales of new cars and trucks and buses in Japan declined in January 2015 by 18.9% compared to the same period last year - up to 237.17 thousand, according to data released on Monday by Japan Automobile Dealers Association (Japan Automobile Dealers Association, JADA).

According to MarketWatch, a drop in sales has been observed for six consecutive months.

JADA data do not include information on the implementation of the heavy truck or minicars.

According to JADA, car production in Japan in December fell by 2.5% in annual terms - up to 766.95 thousand units. However, for 2014 as a whole, sales increased by 1.5% - to 9.77 million.
