National Bank threatens to punish banks

NBU requires commercial banks to observe a moratorium on the accrual of interest and penalties on loans to residents of Donbass. 

National Bank of Ukraine intends to punish commercial banks that have not abolished the penalties on loans for citizens and businesses in the area of ​​anti-terrorist operations. This is stated in a letter to the regulator for commercial banks N18-112/62138 from 27 October, reports zn.ua. 

"The National Bank of Ukraine notes the need for strict and unconditional compliance with the provisions of the Banks Act of Ukraine "On temporary measures for the period of the anti-terrorist operation" and said that the failure of legal requirements is the basis for the application of adequate measures for violators", - stated in the letter.
