The key creditor of Ukraine International Monetary Fund has appointed a new head of the European Department of the Fund, which will be in charge of the program of cooperation with Ukraine.
The new head of the department will be Dane Paul Thomsen, the former head of the IMF mission in Iceland, Portugal and Greece.
The former head of the IMF European Department Reza Moghadam resigned in July this year.
Commenting on the new appointment, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said that Thomsen is "an official in his place".
