General Motors is not interested in a merge with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
FCA Chairman Sergio Marchionne sought to "mega merge" to implement it until his retirement in 2019, and the most desired partner company was General Motors. However, GM does not share similar aspirations and CEO Mary Barra ruled out the possibility of the two automotive conglomerates to join forces.
GM did not want to participate in the meeting about a possible merge of the two companies, neither Barra nor other leaders are not interested in this topic. Instead, General Motors wants to continue its plan to invest in new products.
Sergio Marchionne said earlier that if he could not find a car partner, FCA will contact Google and Apple, to talk about possible cooperation.
