Tesla Cars Will Self-Drive Across The United States By 2018

Tesla continues to develop self-driving technology for their electric cars. According to Iflscience, the next innovation is the function called Summon.

Last year in mid-October, Tesla has introduced a number of self-driving tools. Now the system allows electric cars to move independently along the lanes and pick the needed lane using a turn signal. In addition, the new car is equipped with fully automatic parallel parking function.

The new system called Summon allows cars to enter and leave the garage without the presence of the driver. Also, Tesla electric cars will be able to automatically open and close electrically driven garage doors. The system is especially useful if space within the garage is limited.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that company's cars will gradually get all the new autonomous features and the autopilot feature will become smarter and more efficient. In particular, it is expected that Tesla cars will self-drive across the United States by 2018.
