Daimler sold its stake in Tesla

Carmaker Daimler sold its stake in the American manufacturer of electric Tesla for over 780 million US dollars. 

But despite that Daimler is interested in continuing cooperation with Tesla to develop the components of electric power systems. Today, an American company supplies batteries for such models of German company as Mercedes-Benz B-Class and Smart. 

 

It should be noted that the concern Daimler acquired a 9.1 percent stake in Tesla Motors in May 2009. In July, nearly half of this package was sold to an investment company Aabar, controlled by the government of Abu Dhabi. Then, after the capital increased Tesla Motors Daimler's share in it dropped to 4 percent.
