The car market of Ukraine: import-export results

In the first five months of this year in Ukraine there were imported 42% fewer cars than in the same period last year. Exports also fell, except for buses.

During the period from January to May this year in Ukraine were imported 28,499 units of vehicles, which is 42% less compared to the same period last year, according to the association "Ukravtoprom." Of the total imports 74% are cars that were imported in the amount of 21,180 units costing 291.3 million US dollars. Thus, the import of cars for the first five months dropped by 28 percent.

Commercial and special vehicles for the same period were imported in th amount of 7088 units costing 79 mln US dollars. Compared with a year earlier, the decline in this segment of the auto import is 62 percent. 

Exporters of buses exceeded the year-ago result of 11%, exporting 51 buses costing 1.8 million US dollars.
