Growth rates of production of cars in the UK in January-September 2014 were the highest in six years due to release of new models, as well as the restoration of the European car market, reports MarketWatch.
For the first nine months of this year, the country produced 1.13 million vehicles, up 0.6% above the 2013 level, according to the British Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, SMMT).
In September, production of cars fell by 2.8% compared to the same month last year by 137.068 thousand cars.
Among the new models, production of which began in the UK in the last year are Mini Hatch, Honda Civic Tourer, Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Juke, and Rolls-Royce Wraith. In addition, last week in the country started to assemble new cars Land Rover Discovery Sport, a little earlier - Jaguar XE.
