Audi is preparing a new system of all-wheel drive quattro

Audi is developing a new version of the all wheel drive quattro, the rear axle which is driven by an electric motor. The first model, which will be a novelty to become a family of new generation A4. Its debut is scheduled for 2015. Later the system e-quattro all-terrain version will appear on the TT - TTQ, reports "Car".

The new development is a hybrid propulsion system, which consists of an internal combustion engine and two electric motors. One single unit is assembled with the gearbox, and the second will rotate the rear wheel. Total returns the most powerful version of the system will make 408 horsepower, 292 of which will fall to the internal combustion engine, an electric motor with 54 on the transmission and 116 - on the engine rear axle.
